Each of the four Fixed signs is orientated toward maintaining a sense of security and inner stability. They derive a sense of value from within themselves. They are primarily motivated to pull outer-world experience inward, for processing, assimilating and adapting to their own inner sense of self, to make it their own before re-engaging with the world. Because of this sense of pulling in, to maintain and control experience, the Fixed signs tend to accentuate an element. Through experience, the Fixed signs build a solid sense of self and will attempt to shape their surroundings according to their internal visions.
